Andros
Island Greece. Andros is the second largest of the Cyclades and
an island populated in Summer by wealthy Athenians on long vacations.
Fertile and green in the south and dry and barren in the north, Andros
has started to attract package holidaymakers from Scandinavia but is
by no means over-run. Adorned by Dovecots, a legacy from the Venetians,
Andros gives the impression of a settled and pleasant island. Also popular
with trendy young folk from Athens. Only one hour from the port of Rafina
make Andros a great choice if you are stuck in Athens and don't have
the time to visit the more distant islands - or just fancy a weekend
break.
Andros island is just over an hour's journey away from Rafina port in
Athens, by fast boat, or 2 hours away by regular ferry boat..
